Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 7 November 2026

StrangerTalk is for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. It is not a dating, counselling, financial, legal, medical, or identity service, and nothing on it is advice of any kind.

No scams, fraud, or payments are encouraged on this platform. StrangerTalk does not ask for, accept, or process money, and does not recommend any payment to a stranger. If you make or accept any payment, send money, or share financial details with anyone you meet here, you do so entirely at your own risk.

Entertainment only, lawful use

StrangerTalk is provided solely for casual, entertainment purposes. It is designed for lawful conversation only. Use of the service must not breach any law or regulation that applies to you or to the other person. You must not use the service to commit, plan, promote, or conceal any crime, including fraud, extortion, blackmail, harassment, stalking, trafficking, child sexual exploitation, terrorism, or hate crimes. You are responsible for knowing and obeying the laws where you are and where you connect from.

Do not use StrangerTalk to share real or verifiable personal details. This includes your legal name, home or work address, phone number, email, social media handles, bank or card details, identity document numbers, photographs, or your location. Treat every stranger as an anonymous person whose identity, age, and intentions you cannot check. Anything you share is shared at your own risk.

We do not accept any liability for the content of conversations, for what other users say or do, or for any loss, harm, or consequence that follows from your use of the site. Our operators do not assume any responsibility or legal obligation for your conduct or for the conduct of any user.

1. Consent and acceptance

By ticking the boxes on the entry screen and pressing Enter, you confirm that you have read these Terms and Conditions, that you agree to them, and that you consent to using StrangerTalk under them. If you do not agree, do not use the site and leave immediately.

2. Age requirement (18+ only)

StrangerTalk is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country if that is higher, to use the site. You confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must leave the site now and must not use it at any time.

3. What the service is

StrangerTalk pairs you at random with another person for a text-only chat. Chats are anonymous. We do not verify the identity, age, location, or intentions of anyone you talk to. Every other user is a stranger, and we do not endorse, vouch for, or take responsibility for what any stranger says or does.

4. No scams, no payments

You agree not to use StrangerTalk to run, promote, or take part in any scam, fraud, phishing, investment or romance scheme, or any other attempt to obtain money or property from another person. You agree not to request, offer, or accept payments, gifts, deposits, or financial details. Any transaction you enter into with a stranger is your own decision and your own risk, and StrangerTalk is not liable for any loss.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or abuse anyone;
  • send sexual content involving minors, or attempt to contact, groom, or solicit a minor. Such activity is prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities;
  • send content that is illegal, promotes violence, terrorism, or hatred, or infringes another person's rights;
  • send spam, malware, links to harmful sites, or repeated unsolicited messages;
  • share personal information about yourself or anyone else, including full names, addresses, phone numbers, social media accounts, or bank or card details. Phone numbers are blocked automatically when typed or pasted, and messages containing them are not delivered;
  • impersonate another person, or pretend to be a moderator or staff member;
  • use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access, scrape, or interfere with the service.

5a. Prohibited content, bans, and no liability for messages

The following content is prohibited anywhere on the site: nudity or sexual content of any kind, sexual content involving anyone under 18, harassment, threats, hate speech, spam, scams, malware, links to illegal material, and any content that breaks the law. Messages containing listed words are masked or blocked automatically, and phone numbers are blocked.

We may warn, restrict, or ban any user at any time, including temporarily blocking an internet connection for one hour after repeated reports. We may end any chat and remove any content that breaks these terms.

Messages are written by users, not by us. We do not review messages before they are delivered, and we accept no liability for anything a user writes or sends, or for any decision a user makes after reading a message.

6. Your content and responsibility

You are solely responsible for every message you send. You must not send anything you do not have the right to send. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of StrangerTalk from any claim, loss, or cost arising from your use of the service or your breach of these terms.

7. Reporting and moderation

Use the Report button during any chat to report abuse. Reporting ends that chat. We may warn, restrict, or permanently ban users who break these terms, and we may block access by IP address. Where required by law, or where we believe someone is at risk of serious harm, we will cooperate with law enforcement.

8. Privacy and data

Messages are relayed between the two people in a chat in real time and are not stored. The only exception is a chat you report: the last up to 20 lines shown on your screen are sent to us for review and deleted automatically after 30 days. The gender option you choose on the entry screen is stored in your browser to set the colour theme. The gender option and the "Chat with" choices (Male, Female, LGBTQ) are sent to our server only so that the matching system can pair you with someone who fits your selection. They are held in memory for the duration of your connection, are never shown to other users, and are not written to our statistics database. Choosing "Prefer not to say" or selecting no "Chat with" options means you may be matched with anyone. The full Privacy Policy is at /privacy.

9. Safety

Do not meet strangers from this site in person without taking your own precautions. Never share your location, passwords, or financial information. If you receive a threat or believe someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

StrangerTalk is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be safe, uninterrupted, error free, or free of harmful users or content.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StrangerTalk, its operators, and their staff are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of money, data, reputation, or personal safety, arising from your use of the service or from the conduct of other users. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice, if we believe you have broken these terms or that your use of the site is harmful to others or to the service.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of StrangerTalkafter a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of StrangerTalk is established. If mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you rights that cannot be changed by contract, those rights are not affected.

15. Reporting problems

To report abuse, use the Report button in the chat. Reports are reviewed, and users found to be in breach of these terms are restricted.
